Personal stuff

Uni life isn't just all about the academic challenges.

To help you do your best at university UTS provides a range of services to help keep life on a steady, even keel.

  • The UTS Health Service provides a comprehensive service at the City campus. Bulk-billing and an after hours service available.
  • A free, confidential counselling service is available, by appointment, at the City campus. Emotional distress can upset your sleeping patterns, deplete your energy, interfere with concentration and reduce your ability to retain information. Don't let emotional issues get the better of you. If you need to talk to someone about a personal, administrative or learning related issue, act now.
  • UTS Financial Assistance is there for the trickier financial aspects of student life from Centrelink benefits to interest free loans, student tax information to consumers' rights information and everything in between. If you are a full-time carer or you live with an ongoing illness or disability, you may be eligible for financial assistance.
  • The UTS Housing Service assesses everyone who approaches them, with students with disabilities taking priority. Much of the student accommodation is relatively new and built to accessibility standards (view the accessible studio unit in Yura Mudang). Your DSO can liaise on your behalf if you like.
  • Turn to UTS Fitness Centre if you're looking to keep on top of those extra pounds or want an effective way to manage study stress. Instructors are rehabilitation and return to work qualified and are used to providing highly tailored advice in a relaxed and fully accessible environment. Most of the equipment is adjustable and spaced to allow for wheelchairs. There is lift access to all levels plus accessible changing facilities.
