Developing your study skills


If you need to boost any aspect of your study abilities, there is help on hand.

Whether you need tips on managing your time, making meaningful notes, essay writing or memorising complex information there are several effective ways to deal with it.

Here are some good places to start:

  • HELPS – Higher Education Language & Presentation Support. HELPS aims to provide English language and academic literacy skills assistance to students, offering weekly study/ reading/ writing/ speaking skills workshops, daily drop-in consultations, individual consultations by referral/appointment and writing clinics.   • The UTS BELL Program ('Being an Effective Lifelong Learner') offers a range of classes, courses, modules and workshops which you can work through at your own pace.
