Confidentiality

You should expect your personal information to be treated with respect. Personal information is anything that's personal to you that could be compromised by being inappropriately disclosed.

You should be secure in the knowledge that anything relating to your private affairs will not be disclosed to third parties without your express consent. It is disclosure to that person alone.

Disclosure of information relating to your private affairs is always your choice. You should never feel under pressure to reveal personal information unless you are comfortable doing so.

Your right to privacy is legally protected under the Privacy Act 1988, the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2004.
